Study
Program Overview
The
Berean
School
of the Bible (a division of
the Assemblies of God Global University), offers many courses of study for the
independent student and for the small class environment.
These courses meet the education requirements for credentials in most
Assemblies of God districts however credentials are issued through the local
district and their governing board makes the decision concerning minimum
requirements.
In addition to credentialing courses there are study programs for
specialized ministry in areas such as Youth, Children, Senior Adult, and Music
as well as Sunday School Certification courses and over twenty additional
general interest courses.
A number of courses require additional activities or written papers beyond
the closed book final examination. With
courses of this nature the examination accounts for eighty percent of the final
grade and the additional work represents the other twenty percent.
If a student is involved in a course of study leading to Certified
Minister credentials, Ministerial License credentials, or Ordination credentials
the student must participate in the “Mentoring” process.
This process calls for the student to select a person whom they trust for
advice in spiritual matters and who is willing to spend a minimum of two hours
during each course guiding and counseling the student.
In addition to the Mentoring Program a minimum of sixteen classroom hours
is required for each course. Students
may audit courses and be released from the Mentoring process, the minimum
sixteen-hour per class requirement, and are not required to take the final
examination. The downfall to this
approach is that the student may at a later date decide to pursue credentials
and will not have fulfilled the minimum requirements.
The current course list is available upon request.
